the big 2-5!

Two weeks ago (better late than never, right?) I celebrated my 25th birthday.  Crazy to think that I'm already half a century old!!

This year was a bit different than past birthday's for me.  Chris usually plans a whole day full of surprises that totally rock, but since I've started working again, we haven't really been able to celebrate like that on my birthday.  It usually ends up being around my birthday, which is just fine!

This year we were in Minnesota with my family the week before, and so we decided to celebrate mine and my sister Dayna's birthday's together there.  Her's is the day before mine, so it was fun to celebrate them together with my parents, which for me hasn't happened in 3 years!

We were super low key, which for this prego was awesome, and just what I wanted!  There were games, yummy, food, lots of laughing, and of course -- presents :)

My husband spoiled me rotten and got me the diaper bag I've been drooling over, but feel too guilty getting because it's a tad bit expensive.  But somehow he was able to get a good deal thanks to gift cards and amazon money to score me a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag.  I'm in heaven, and cannot wait to put it to use!!

Last week for my actual birthday, I had my sister and cousin stay over the night before.  We woke up to the aroma of bacon (my dream!), and Chris cooking away in the kitchen.  He had made us a really yummy breakfast!  This man of mine knows his way around the kitchen.

We then relaxed and watched some movies (again, just what I needed) for a bit.  After a few hours, and a flower delivery (!!) later, we decided that we should go and do something.  We got ready and headed out for some lunch and bowling.  After Chris got home, we dropped my sister and cousin off at my grandparents and headed to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  Yum-o!! It was so good.  My mouth is just watering thinking of the yummy food and cheesecake I got.

Chris then (once again!) surprised me with another gift to do some shopping.  I hit up Motherhood to get some maternity jeans, and then Bath & Body Works to get some goodies.  I felt like a pretty lucky gal to have a husband that spoils me rotten, and goes out of his way to make me feel extra special on my big day.  Sure do love that man!

birthday weekend celebrations!

This past Saturday was filled with birthday celebrations for us!  First off my wonderful Mom was celebrating her 29th ;) birthday (again), and so I was able to talk to her for a bit on the phone and wish her a happy birthday.  It's hard to be away from my family when they have birthday's.

Then our good friend Jessie was celebrating her birthday and asked us to celebrate with her!  So we had her and her husband Talmage, and our other friends Brad and Julie over for some grilled chicken and steak skewers, which we POLISHED because they were so good!

After that we indulged in some Minute to Win it games, as well as some good old Mario Kart on the Game Cube.  We all couldn't get enough of that game.  It was so fun!

our yummy spread!!

Later on that night, Chris and I joined Jessie and Talmage out to dinner at Teppanyaki for a delicious feast!  I'm surprised we were even hungry enough to share our plates of food. Haha!  It was very good though.  After that we went and saw Star Trek (again), and were blown away (again) at how good it is!

Overall it was a great day, and we are so grateful that Jessie asked us to celebrate with her!

christopher's birthday

(Side note: this is WAY late...but I'm turning a new leaf, and becoming better at posting...
let's see how it goes!)

On January 19th, Christopher celebrated his 25th birthday!  I can't believe the birthday's keep coming, but I wanted to make this birthday a special one since it marks halfway to 50, it was finally on a weekend, and Chris is always planning the most amazing birthday's for me, so I felt it fair to do the same for him.

I wanted to make it Utah Jazz themed, so I made a Jazz cake, which was HARD!  I also gave him some Jazz themed presents  -  Jazz floor mats, and a Jazz/BYU fleece blanket.  He also got a watch that he's been dying to have, and a handful of other things.

We started out the day by sleeping in, which in our house is a treat!  We then got up and ready for the day, and hopped in the car to start our first stop.  I made sure Chris blindfolded himself, so that he couldn't see where we were going.  I got to said location a bit early, so I drove around to really make sure Chris didn't know where we were.  The day continued as follows:

Stop 1 - Fong's restaurant for a delicious lunch with a small handful of my family members.

Stop 2 - We stopped at Scheel's in search of some BYU sweat pants for Chris, and came out with a new jacket for me, some sweat pants, a hat, a BYU helmet, and some holiday ornaments that were on a mega sale.  So one could say that it was a successful trip!

Stop 3 - Chris didn't own running shoes, and with our new workout regime  I figured it would be good for his feet and body to get some supportive shoes, so we hit the new outlets in Lehi (Park City outlets are still by far my favorite), and found a killer deal on some Nike shoes for him.  Thanks Kelly for making that possible with your generous gift card!

Stop 4 - A few days previous I stopped at the bank to pick up 25 nickels to go along with the 25th birthday theme.  With those nickels, we went to Nickel City to play some games.

Stop 5 - I had some of our friends meet us at Fat Cats Bowling to surprise Chris for some fun games of bowling.  Thanks guys!

Stop 6 - Our birthday ritual of eating at Tucano's happend, and we were able to enjoy the deliciousness of this place with some good friends, Talmage & Jessie.

After dinner, we went back to our house and had some cake and ice cream, and played some fun games.  It was a great birthday for a wonderful guy.  I am so lucky to have him in my life, and to celebrate another birthday with him.  Here's to 25+ more birthdays!  Love you babe :)
