The Oscars Are A Comin' -- Plus a FREE Oscar Party Ballot Print!

Those of you that know me, know that I love the Oscars.  It's the one thing that I can look forward to after the holidays have come and gone.  We are about 10 days away from the Oscars!  I'm so excited :)

While living in Utah, my Aunt Lori threw an awesome Oscar party every year (see past posting on these parties here and here).  Seeing that I now live in Chicago, and can't quite as easily attend this year's event, so I thought I would prep for my own party!

I give you the official Oscar ballot -- FREE for all those who like to host their own Oscar parties, or just want to have some fun guessing who's going to win!

Print as many off as you'd like and need!  I designed this ballot so that you can cut it down a bit and back it with a nice gold glitter card stock, or other color of choice!

So get your ballots and pens ready, and any yummy treats to munch on, because this year is going to be good!  Tune in Sunday, February 22nd on ABC!

oscars 2014

Every year my aunt throws a big Oscar party.  We all dress up, gather at her house, eat lots of goodies, and fill out our ballots as we watch the Oscars.  I love it.  It's one of my favorite things I look forward to at the beginning of each new year.  First off, who doesn't love the Oscars? (I know my husband is one of those...haha)

My aunt has be best decorations set up as well, including each of the top categories with their nominations all over her wall so that we can examine and makes our "picks".

We even get prizes whether we guessed the most categories right or not!  Overall it's such a great time for all my family to get together to talk, and laugh about random things, and of course, the Oscar's best dressed :)

Until next year!

the oscars 2013

Did you watch the Oscars??  I sure did!  It's one of my favorite award shows to watch.  My aunt Lori puts on a big Oscar party for the family, and we get all dressed up and eat food, and cast our votes on our very own ballots.  It's pretty awesome.

It was quite a shocking year I must say!  I did not know that Life of Pi was going to take so many awards.  I thought for sure Les Miserables was going to take more than it did.  I was so happy that Jennifer Lawrence won best actress.  She a favorite of mine.  I didn't care much for Seth McFarland.  I didn't think he was that great...

Overall though, it was a great night, and Chris won the ballot!  Thanks aunt Lori for the gift for winning!  Here are some pictures from the night:

the academy awards 2012

Does anyone else love the Oscars?? It's one of the only award shows that I will actually watch and get excited for. Every year my aunt Lori puts on a big Oscar party, and I mean BIG! She decorates her house like crazy with all the pictures of the nominees of the big categories. She also prints out your very own ballot on this awesome gold paper and so we can have our own fun choosing who we think will win each category and then at the end of the show whoever got the most guesses right, wins a prize! Plus we all get dressed up in our "red carpet" best. It's a lot of fun and I am so grateful that Chris loves me enough to come and participate because let's be honest, it's a total ladies night!

This year was one of the first years where I have seen hardly any of the nominated movies for best picture. I have to admit that I hate how many Oscars The Artist won. I heard it wasn't a very good show to begin with...I started voting for Hugo because it was taking most of the wins to begin with, but then I should've finished with choosing just The Artist. Chris and I did win the top two spots though! My other aunt usually takes it every year, but with her gone this year we had a chance. Haha. Chris took first with 12 guesses right, and the funny thing is, he cared the least for winning.

Here are some of my favorites things from this years award show:

These guys were hilarious!

Loved these two together in Iron Man, and now on stage. Robert's tebowing
backstage was classic.

Love her!! So happy so won another Oscar. She deserved it!

Overall it was a fun night of dressing up, eating yummy treats, and watching some great T.V.!
